More than 26,000 of the budget airline's customers were asked to rate the performance of 100 airports in Europe, and Southend came out on top with a score of 92% - placing it ahead of more well-known airports such as Gatwick and Stansted.
To determine the scores, travellers were asked to rate the airport's check-in process, aircraft, punctuality, boarding procedures, overall satisfaction with the airport and friendliness of airport staff. In all, 98% were satisfied with the length of time at check in at Southend, while 100% passengers were satisfied with the efficiency of check-in staff.
'We hope that even more passengers will choose to come and experience London's newest airport,' commented London Southend Airport managing director Alastair Welch. 'We designed our new facilities to be "simply easier" and we are thrilled that so many of easyJet's passengers agree.'
